For those who can sense they are being pulled into the current of emotion, pause for a moment to ponder if Jesus or His Father would say what you are about to say about His children. An example can be easily found tuning into the verbalized thoughts of those inspired to discuss politics and its influence on your fellow citizens. One example is the descriptive word "stupid". Is that inspired by something Jesus said? Discipline may be a two-way street. One way is your wish (thought). The other way is the opposite direction of thought in the mind of the one you wish would think (preferrably) like yourself.
