When you cease doing what you want to do, there may be a sliver of a chance that others will stop doing what they want to do when you ask or tell them to cease. Sounds like the equitable equity many do not actually want, though they proclaim such goal unabashedly.

Goal: Increase knowledge of economic reality preserving life through tariffs war. My hypothesis explained here in an example is the loss of life of passengers on the Titanic. The loss would have been substantially fewer if there had been a tariff of 100% and more on the price of tickets. Recommendation: Adopt the policy to save lives with tariffs by charging only enough tariffs to save 100% of lives. Expect this methodology to work almost perfectly achieving the intent for applying the tariff.
