Sometimes situations develop in which wanting to help becomes so intense that it hurts more the one thought to be the one being helped.
A person with a passion on a mission with their purpose. Even to deceive (themself) to achieve.
Obsession, generally. Munchausen syndrome (by proxy), exemplary but not exclusively.
