My own wish for members of congress is to think if there is something useful, they can do before doing the standard or inventively new useless things they normally choose to do.
Hint follows for a revelation: sometimes saying the phrase "we're doing it for the children" precedes their conscious reconciliation of such aspirations with their desired outcome balanced on personal morality.
