Not being a mental monster, when I hear the expression "if you throw a rock at a lake and don't hear a splash..." I infer from the construction of the sentence and meaning of the words that the target may not have been appropriately identified as the body of water as the rock's arrival destination. As written, I comprehend a destination that is whatever happens to be at the end of the rock's arc of the toss. Clarification may have been achieved if the wording was "if you throw a rock into a lake and don't hear a splash.... Picky tricky how my mind works me over. Call me idiosyncratic or maybe idiot-psychotic.
Note: The moral of the story is how easy a perception can be altered by a single word. Add a few changes and into safe space world we travel.

To turn my leering leaching eye to the realm of "Notes", for example "Community Notes" and all other sources of information sometimes also called data either for or not for "checking" or any other purpose such as research. Can there be identified anything that is useless before one's encounter with such note (source)?
Requisite condition: How would one know for themself?
Do I hear it now? What you say?
Self-assigned complication rating: <1>). Or maybe zero.
Point: Everything old is always new to some or many.

What I am quite but not completely sure of is that I would support not preventing anyone from not doing what they do not want to do. However, in some situations I would not recommend such behavior.
