Premise 1: all decisions / actions of government both affect and effect citizens.
Premise 2: more likely people employed by government can tell you the people that their decisions help.
Premise 3: all laws, rules, regulations hurt people.
Premise 4: more likely people employed by government cannot, will not or do not want to tell you the people that their decisions have hurt.
Question: For all politicians and government employees to ask themselves before working in government is how many people have you or will you hurt as a result of your decisions and/or actions?
Run with it as your conscience leads you, Toward or away or both?
Note: This issue does not and is not directed to people in government who are tasked with security (physical) situations. Exceptions probably exist. Human nature.

What I am quite but not completely sure of is that I would support not preventing anyone from not doing what they do not want to do. However, in some situations I would not recommend such behavior.
