There is some wisdom contained in the judicial system. Such as the universality of motive. Even bullies and their targets each and all have motives. Even every nation's leader has their motives. Even the innocents* have motives. Sometimes people agree with the motives sometimes they do not.
Russia and Ukraine. Two nations with lots of motives, each a lot to win, each a lot to lose. Not a person unmotivated by their own motives.
- Innocents is a conceptual term in this comment. Perhaps explained by the idiom, 'one makes the bed they lie in'.
