I remind myself frequently that people will say things that others will listen to and agree with despite not making any logical sense to myself and possibly others. I might call this situation intellectual dyslexia of the speaker.
My suggestion to myself is to not evaluate someone's performance based on what I expect. Base an evaluation on what others expect and appear to demonstrate understanding. Insanity has its believers.

To turn my leering leaching eye to the realm of "Notes", for example "Community Notes" and all other sources of information sometimes also called data either for or not for "checking" or any other purpose such as research. What I am quite but not completely sure of is that I would support not preventing anyone from not doing what they do not want to do. However, in some situations I would not recommend such behavior.
