People who work as government must realize figuratively that they are working for a charitable organization. Not in the sense that they give to the needy. Rather they rely on the contributions of their sponsors (not constituents). When the sponsors lose interest, those people working as government will cease to (have a) function.

Maybe the most self-beneficial reconciling penance administered by/for/to humans is performed by politicians who have a blinding trust in the concept employed as preventative responsibility contained within the theory of plausible deniability.
