Why the Soviet Union did not triumph as a society. This is a philosophical and maybe somewhat theological reason.
Based on the following abstract premise ponder the unsuccessful attempt to make socialism, communism work. The lack of success is a result of the inability of envy and jealousy (vices) to overcome greed (virtue).
To assist comprehension. Greed is behavior generally for the preservation of oneself (and family). Envy and jealousy generally are behavior for the destruction of others (just about anybody). Greed is most often a byproduct of love (of family). Envy and jealousy are most often a byproduct of hate (of almost everybody).
The choice is always your own decision. Certainly, it will be wise.

Maybe the most self-beneficial reconciling penance administered by/for/to humans is performed by politicians who have a blinding trust in the concept employed as preventative responsibility contained within the theory of plausible deniability. That, on judgement day penance may be translated to the language of individual responsibility and will fail the Judge's inquiry and be passed on as the administration of justice.
