Try to remember that desperation like most things in God's realm can take you down but my assumption is that He wants you to take it upward, ultimately (after your full life) to reach Him. An offer I hope and pray everyone can accept.

This Sunday today my Lord's Day I wish all my friends well and in His grace. I pray there are fewer maybe none who this moment wishes upon me and friends their hell. The offer to be friends is open always controlled by a personal responsibility decision.
Moral: friends always wish you well both coming and going.

Theology and politics a blinder much of the time. So, I say about me and friends and others.
