It would not be a surprise to discover that a most significant number of caring individuals are the ones who create and/or operate non-profit organizations and go to the trouble of registering as an IRS: 501(c)(?) or in that realm. The extent of caring is usually easy to identify when the payroll expenses are great (high). That supports the assertion that reducing, even eliminating poverty (for some) is the priority.
