An idea could develop that government/power/control is effectively the insurer of record for liberal, progressive, leftist, wokist (im)moral, (un)ethical and (un)lawful behavior. During the current acceleration of madness, the growth of this dependency is more and more frequently expressed in the phrase rules for thee but not for me. The chaos they worship is not in society it is in their thoughts. Anything rationalizes and justifies the means for the end. Whatever that end momentarily may be.
