The most concise and meaningful instruction / advice (in two words) that I received during my life that did not come directly from my parents was "be prepared". My parents did encourage this philosophy but did not hype it as a slogan or motto, as did the Boy Scouts.

I have comfort in knowing that everything is going according to plan. The glitch seems to be knowing beforehand whose* and which plan is on the marquee and will play out regardless.
- My guess that is always first is my Lord God's plan.
