Perhaps figuratively the ultimate irony will occur, should it become necessary, when those who hate, leave no other possible self-defense for those who are hated, than the hated to treat the haters with the demeaning mockery and disdain those haters use on the hated.
Again, figuratively one might imagine our current situation can be exemplified by the Civil War.
