Indeed, mankind must be in the age of advanced medicine. Intelligence not so much. Medicine has so advanced that one person can get a vaccine shot and cure everyone who wanted the injectee (new word?) to get the shot.
Note: the injectee (the new word?) may contract the disease despite the vaccine.
The word witchdoctor (not which doctor) keeps flaring-up in my thoughts. Images of ornately dressed people dancing, and howling at the sun (and moon), just like demonstrations on many campuses flash through my mind. March on foolish kiddos (lemmings) over the cliff and into the sea.

Maybe the most self-beneficial reconciling penance administered by/for/to humans is performed by politicians who have a blinding trust in the concept employed as preventative responsibility contained within the theory of plausible deniability.
