To "go" to Washington requires a financial backing, a bit of personality (?) and some type of education to call oneself qualified. Why get prosecuted for a criminal lifestyle when you can persecute (by prosecuting) using your lifestyle as a politician? With the appropriate character all that the politician has to do is to work across an aisle. Perfect job opportunity for Sadists.
