Even in-laws will lose their welcome if they persist hanging around (nagging) too long and too much. Metaphorically in today's political environment, even the insane will lose their interest in welcoming insanity. Or it can be described that things get too crazy even for the crazy. Incrementally this phenomenon morphs the mind pushing some toward self-responsibility. As the absurdities grow the push gets stronger. One nag that cannot be ignored is the conscience. It works very well in the dark, when you are sleeping. Is our conscience one form of our guardian angel?
