Quick squib to perhaps satisfactorily answer one of the serious questions upon which humanity always seems to speculate. The answer identifies the mystery question. My guess is that it boils down to the same reason Adam and Eve decided paradise the Garden of Eden, sometimes also called utopia was not the right option for a being with a free will. So, is this why civilization does fail?

To turn my leering leaching eye to the realm of "Notes", for example "Community Notes" and all other sources of information sometimes also called data either for or not for "checking" or any other purpose such as research.
