May it be suggested that shame is not understood nor felt by someone who has no moral standards with no mental control. People have rationalized and internalized the concept of "safe space". As behavior indicates it is a mental fence blocking/filtering ideas. It is constructed in their mind and only data/information that conforms to the required meaning and/or purpose of the issue is entered into the space. In other words, only what is useful is entered into their mind. Everything else is just discarded (blanked out). A vivid example is claiming there is a mostly peaceful demonstration in front of a fiery backdrop.
Note: this issue is raised as a response to the article "Oh Honey, NO! Liz Cheney Tries Picking a Fight With Mark Levin and HOLY HELL Was THAT Ever a Stupid Idea", located at: https : // twitchy . com / samj /2024/03/10/mark-levin-drops-liz-cheney-n2393829.
The article may be behind a paywall. Not sure, should you happen to venture that way.

Strictly my personal preference is not to search for things to worry about for which I get the thought (impression) that someone is worrying about that or those things. Unless it concerns me.
Footnote: Practice makes perfect. A statement I have thought about (worry) that has never been proven and most likely will never be.
