Make sense of the following by explaining it to yourself.
If you hear a name called and it is not your name, do you respond?
If you hear someone calling out a derogatory comment, not necessarily at/to you, do you respond?
If you think you would respond (be offended), that indicates that you think/thought it applies to you.
Logically, when a person is offended it is probably because the comment was perceived as a correct point. Thus, logically it cannot be offensive because your reaction is acknowledgment that it is an accurate point.

To turn my leering leaching eye to the realm of "Notes", for example "Community Notes" and all other sources of information sometimes also called data either for or not for "checking" or any other purpose such as research. Can there be identified anything that is useless before one's encounter with such note (source)?

What I am quite but not completely sure of is that I would support not preventing anyone from not doing what they do not want to do. However, in some situations I would not recommend such behavior.
