Perhaps a flighty metaphor of the thought process of liberals, leftists, wokists and others is a persistently derailed train going forward rapidly toward changing unspecified destinations with ideas that pertain only to the immediate surroundings. A bit chaotic and thoughts just cannot stay on track.
