It very well may turn out that the only compassion that will have a measurable result is compassion for one’s self. It is demonstrated, thus measured, by the responsibility one’s self takes. That is compassion felt by everyone who, as a result, do not have to be responsible for you. Otherwise, a barrel of compassion can be poured onto someone and they wouldn’t feel it.
