The current trend of social media to mitigate exposure to views determined to be unacceptable will ultimately accomplish just the opposite of the desired result.
By blocking or eliminating thoughts they are locking themselves into a mental “safe space” that has meaning or reality only to themselves.
In effect they are building a mental wall to keep thoughts out.
It is a self-destructive path.

Maybe the most self-beneficial reconciling penance administered by/for/to humans is performed by politicians who have a blinding trust in the concept employed as preventative responsibility contained within the theory of plausible deniability. That, on judgement day penance may be translated to the language of individual responsibility and will fail the Judge's inquiry and be passed on as the administration of justice.
