A significant reason that liberals, progressives, democrats and many republicans do not support programs that will improve individuals is because the liberals and all the others advocating with them, know that the people for whom they are advocating are likely not to want to improve themselves nor their circumstances. Most (not all), if they want to improve their circumstances, would be in the process of improving themselves to change their own circumstances. It is more likely than not that many of the people in the liberal defined “vulnerable” conditions do not perceive themselves to be vulnerable.
