The claim of responsibility asserted by the statement “you didn’t build that” is an excellent example of why government is so inept. The claim is always after the fact. It proves they didn’t know what the goal was that they were spending the money on before they built it. In many, perhaps most of the cases, the time and money are wasted.

Maybe the most self-beneficial reconciling penance administered by/for/to humans is performed by politicians who have a blinding trust in the concept employed as preventative responsibility contained within the theory of plausible deniability. That, on judgement day penance may be translated to the language of individual responsibility and will fail the Judge's inquiry and be passed on as the administration of justice.
