One explanation of the divergent opinions and behavior of the people directly involved in the operation and existence of the republican party compared to the citizen members and supporters of the party is their different perspectives.
Those directly involved Party operations believe the Party exists to insure the continuation of themselves, the party, and the Country. Unfortunately, Country, in this case is their internal rationalization and euphemism for the disguised word “job”. This is a duplication of the first consideration, themselves.
Citizen members and supporters of the Party believe that the Party exists to insure the survival of the Country, themselves and lastly the Party.

It struck me that the result from the effort to rid the past of the history of slavery now may come to the perfect ending with the elimination of a past problem that doesn't exist now. That itself deserves the "Go figure" award.
