Do you know why the expression “drink the cool aid” is used? Because the person who coined this phrase didn’t know history and that it previously was called “magic elixir” by traveling snake oil salesmen. The “snake oil” salesman aspect of the concoction doesn’t change just the name of the medicine it is selling. Just ask Jim Jones.
