Statistics is a field that many include in the realm of science. At least from statements found everywhere it seems to be proffered as science. It is frequently used as a basis of making statements of certitude about uncertain issues. For example, horse racing. A particular horse may be (almost) certain to win. However, personally, I would not bet my horse (or house) on it. So for sure the recommendation of this comment is to rely almost 100% +/- 99% +/- .001 % that a fact relied upon based on statistical analysis will be correct. Take it to the bank or to the poor house. Whichever result wins the race to accuracy.

Can there be identified anything that is useless before one's encounter with such note (source)?

What I am quite but not completely sure of is that I would support not preventing anyone from not doing what they do not want to do. However, in some situations I would not recommend such behavior.
