Reasons advocates of government want the government to do more are: they know it can’t be done but don’t care. They can’t do it themselves because it can’t be done. Or they are afraid to try to get it done. Or they lack the confidence to do it themselves. Or they provide the excuse to themselves that they are not successful enough to attempt it. Or, they covet what others have. There are more, I am sure.
