A vulnerability of liberalism is that the liberal does not and cannot promise you something that he or you will provide. They promise to make someone else provide it.
Hopefully sooner than later they will run out of those “someone” else.
It is very possible that option is in the future.

Maybe the most self-beneficial reconciling penance administered by/for/to humans is performed by politicians who have a blinding trust in the concept employed as preventative responsibility contained within the theory of plausible deniability.
