For what my puny mind can offer to anyone who has feelings of despair and anger about a parent who abandoned them, remember it is likely that where you are now is where they were then. If appropriate and if you can find it in your heart, say a pray for them now. Perhaps your prayer will find your love for them contained within God’s love for you nestled in your heart. Perhaps it will provide a path to freedom from anguish.

Maybe the most self-beneficial reconciling penance administered by/for/to humans is performed by politicians who have a blinding trust in the concept employed as preventative responsibility contained within the theory of plausible deniability.
