It is my opinion that many republicans are closet democrats, liberals, progressives who could not find an open job in government through the democrat party. Unfortunately, most people who become politicians do so because they think they can solve problems with government. Starting on a false assumption, results in false solution.
PS: many politicians are con artists who are imaginative enough to look for a legal way to scam their marks.
