It is difficult to understand the perspective of people whose actions hurt other people. Particularly when those administering the pain that hurts others, do not understand that the perspective of the people feeling the pain may change. The changing perspective of those being hurt may be their realization of a need to react by administering pain to those who are hurting them so that their own pain will cease and they will survive. In many circumstances this behavioral reaction may be called self-defense. There is a much shorter version of this comment. It goes something like this; those who choose to live by the sword shall die by the sword.

It struck me that the result from the effort to rid the past of the history of slavery now may come to the perfect ending with the elimination of a past problem that doesn't exist now. That itself deserves the "Go figure" award.
