I believe that the ideology, philosophy and theology of liberalism progressivism, all the leftism's and all of its mutations is best expressed by paraphrasing bho’s own behavior: instead of “lead from behind” the correct expressions is “live (life) from behind”.
To clarify the phrase “lead from behind” I refer to Nelson Mandela’s use of the phrase with an exactly opposite meaning. Mandela: “It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.” But even Mr. Mandela qualified the statement with the use of “especially”. The word “especially” should have been left out of the statement. It reveals a weakness in his full commitment to his own statement. As the phrase is used in relation to bho the implication is that “lead from behind” is relevant regardless of whether there is “danger” or no “danger” involved in the situation. Like all liberal progressive advocates anything can mean everything and conversely everything can mean anything.
The thought “lead from behind” is an oxymoron in the sense that the person who thinks they are “leading” is cognizant of the circumstances and knows what the outcome will be. With regard to human behavior, it is impossible to put the result before the problem. As history has taught us, social behavior is eternally repeated.
“Lead from behind” as used by bho is more an indication of cowardice than of the virtues of courage, benevolence, compassion or consideration.
