The inherent problem with the people who choose to work as government is that finding fault in everything their fellow citizens do increases their justification for oppressing citizens even more. Or, as they would perceive it, to create and enforce even more laws.

It struck me that the result from the effort to rid the past of the history of slavery now may come to the perfect ending with the elimination of a past problem that doesn't exist now. That itself deserves the "Go figure" award.
