One aspect of the foolishness of gun control advocates is creating the belief you can rely on police to be where you are to protect you when by law they can’t be there unless you are threatened or dead.
IE: if you rely on the police to protect you ask battered wives and girlfriends how that request works out. Especially ask the women with court orders. They could roll-up the court order into a tube and blow a poison dart at the attacker. At least until the attacker shoots, stabs or bludgeons the women to death.

Maybe the most self-beneficial reconciling penance administered by/for/to humans is performed by politicians who have a blinding trust in the concept employed as preventative responsibility contained within the theory of plausible deniability.
