One aspect of liberals is their focus on their ideology as opposed to the republicans who focus on themselves because they have so comprised their ideology. They no longer know what it was they were idolizing.
Or, for the more recent historical buffs.
The Israelites who wandered around the desert for decades could blame God for their lack of direction, the republicans can blame the liberals since republicans take their cues from the democrats.
