To convey the deleterious impact of social programs such as welfare, unemployment, food stamps and others is to ask the following question of a food stamp recipient? What would you think of a vendor that you pay with food stamps and the vendor provides nothing in return? The transaction between you and the vendor is the same as the transaction between the government and you. You, the food stamp recipient gets nothing from the vendor in return for your food stamps. It is the same nothing that you gave to the government to get the food stamps. If you complain about having paid taxes, remember so did the vendor who is probably still paying taxes along with every other working citizen.
