A killer deliberately kills another person, is convicted, serves a sentence of 50 years and is released. During the 50 years, that killer completes an education that provides doctorates in jurisprudence, theology, and philosophy. Upon release the killer deliberately kills another person. An education at best provides data, which may be useful as information, which can lead to a positive contribution to society. On the other hand, it can have no meaningful or negative impact on society. The fact that a person has a lengthy education is useless in evaluating an individual’s potential behavior with other people.

Maybe the most self-beneficial reconciling penance administered by/for/to humans is performed by politicians who have a blinding trust in the concept employed as preventative responsibility contained within the theory of plausible deniability.
