Another reason liberals and liberalism fail: Because regardless of how much they believe their own fantasy, over time people will not do what they do not want to do. Even if they are momentarily deceived by false promises.
Or for those people who want the point expressed in a positive light, people will do what they want to do. E.G., The prohibition of alcohol.
Or for those people who want the point expressed in a financial perspective, people will not do what they can’t do.

To turn my leering leaching eye to the realm of "Notes", for example "Community Notes" and all other sources of information sometimes also called data either for or not for "checking" or any other purpose such as research. What I am quite but not completely sure of is that I would support not preventing anyone from not doing what they do not want to do. However, in some situations I would not recommend such behavior.
